LLumar window film is manufactured by Eastman Chemical Company, a global specialty chemcials company founded by Eastman Kodak in 1920. Eastman operates one of the world’s largest and most integrated window and performance-coated film manufacturing sites, serving customers in nearly 100 countries. The LLumar brand traces its origins back to 1956, when Julius Hermes—known as the father of dyed PET (polyethylene terephthalate)—developed the polyester now used in most window films. LLumar was officially established in the United States in 1977 and expanded globally in 2001.
